SKETCHBOOKS 2
This second group of pages is from relatively recent smaller sketchbooks and again appear in (very roughly) chronological order: the first ten are A5 size, the rest are A6. Many of the double page spreads have had to be cropped to fit when scanning.
I use the small A6 books a lot these days; they are an ideal size to slip easily into a pocket and can be used unobtrusively where necessary - chiefly in cafes! They have become constant companions and form a kind of visual diary; these drawings are often done for the sheer pleasure of doing them. Drawing remains a constant source of joy for me. Long may it last.
I don't use the big books so much these days unless I am pretty sure I'm going to make use of the drawing in a painting.
